The Challenging Work of Alphabetical Transportation

This delightful alphabetical animal journey takes viewers from tethering an alligator to riding the downy backs of sheep and dancing with poodles. The accordion fold structure, designed and hand assembled by the artist, is letterpress printed on Lana Cover paper and has red cloth boards at each end.

Artist Sonia Romero’s influences include early folk art and iconography, children’s stories and fairy tales, and the contemporary urban landscape of Los Angeles. She received her formal education at the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts and her BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design, with an emphasis in printmaking. She is the daughter of renowned artists, Nancy and Frank Romero, and the granddaughter of Edith Wyle, founder of the Craft and Folk Art Museum.
