Behind the Veil
Sacred words from many religions appear to float over each other in this book, culminating in a quotation from the Sufi mystic Hazrat Inayat Khan. The text is both printed and embossed on papers overprinted with woodblock images. The two-page signatures are sewn into the spine and then attached to each other using metallic-covered paper tabs. The wooden covers are sewn on through small holes on the front and back, and the piece is housed in a parchment wrapper.
The concluding quote from Khan states: βThe wonderful thing is that the soul already knows to some extent that there is something behind the veil, the veil of perplexity, that there is something to be sought for in the highest spheres of life, that there is some beauty to be seen, that there is Someone to be known who is knowable.β
