Katherine Venturelli
Windows of Change
This accordion fold book includes six embossed pages and six intaglio prints on white Rives BKF paper, and is housed in a wood slipcase box with a copper etching attached to the front.
Artist Katherine Venturelli said: "Windows of Change represents my efforts to merge text and symbolic imagery into a personal statement about terms of time and change. Because of the personal content of the handwritten text, I chose to use graphite with its softer edges rather than ink. The book's concertina format was selected to emphasize the unfolding of time or the facets of change; a physical pathway into the inner spirit.”

Windows of Change
The copper plates used to create the numbered edition of Windows of Change were hinged together with copper rivets and leather to produce a one-of-a-kind accordion fold book. The piece is housed in a black wooden box.
Artist Katherine Venturelli said: "These are the original copper plates utilized in the printing of the paper edition. I recycled these beautiful plates into a unique book structure. I like how the reflective and ephemeral surface quality of copper has added new dimensions to my book forms. Working with the ‘copper pages’ has been a challenge for me; I have had to re-think and re-invent.”
